The current implementation, where tasks are associated to projects via the Related To field, precludes the association of tasks to other What records. Many of the tasks within our projects need to be related to an account, which forces us to duplicate tasks to ensure that the activity history is captured both within the project and on the relevant account record. By changing the relationship between Task and Project to a custom field, this would open up the full use of standard task functionality.
