This section contains new features, enhancements and fixes specific to the Lightning Web Components - Gantt LWC, Portfolio LWC, and Resource LWC.
Full support for Task List projects in the Gantt LWC.
Added “Done” checkbox and strike through styling for completed tasks.
Predecessor logic is now disabled for Task List projects.
You can now quickly mark tasks as complete in Waterfall projects using the new “Done” checkbox.
When checked, the task subject is automatically struck through, the status is set to “Completed”, and % Complete is updated to 100%.
Enabled task-level filtering using the "Done" column, making it easier to focus on completed or outstanding work.
Automatic Chatter posts notify project owners when external contacts update tasks via the Inspire Planner External Portal (description, status, or time entry).
User Guide to follow
A new time tracking icon in Gantt allows one-click logging - no need to open each task.
Track and manage scope changes and approvals with a dedicated in-app Change Log.
A new Rate Card object for flexible resource billing allows you to manage multiple billable and cost rates per resource, with automation to calculate labor costs across tasks.
A new Resource Profile object centralizes key data, improves permission control, and supports upcoming enhancements like rate cards and preferences.
In Resource Utilization, you can now click on a resource’s name to quickly view or edit their profile. This streamlines resource management by making it easier to access and update resource details without leaving the utilization view.
Filtering project tasks by currency (e.g., budgeted or actual cost) and numeric fields (e.g., planned or actual effort) is now supported.
The Status Report template has been updated with a modernized design to better align with Salesforce Lightning styling. Previously, customers needed to clone and manually modify the template to update its color theme.
A new custom setting now allows you to define a primary branding color without code changes.
When viewing resource utilization, the applied date range filter is now retained. This allows you to navigate away and return without needing to reapply your preferred date range, improving efficiency and consistency in your workflow.
Resolved an issue where the “Unsaved changes detected” message would appear when opening a project in the Gantt LWC, even though the parent task rollup job had completed and % Complete and Status values were already up-to-date.
Previously, the “List All Salesforce Tasks” dialogue did not display real-time data when opened. Users had to manually refresh the page to view the latest Salesforce Task updates.
This issue has now been resolved. The dialogue now queries and displays up-to-date Salesforce Task data each time it is opened, eliminating the need for a manual page refresh.
Previously, when a user attempted to create a Booking Task linked to a Project they had Read-Only access to (i.e., a Viewer Collaborator), an error would correctly display. However, following the error, the Resource Utilization page would become unresponsive or “stuck,” requiring a manual page refresh.
This issue has now been resolved. The system continues to block unauthorized actions, but Resource Utilization will remain responsive and usable after the error is shown.
This section provides updates on our legacy components, including Gantt Visualforce, Portfolio Visualforce, and Resource Allocation, in addition to detailing enhancements and fixes across various aspects of Inspire Planner like Inspire Planner System Jobs and the External Project Portal. While we continue to support these legacy components, we want to highlight our strategic shift towards prioritizing development on Lightning Web Components (LWC). This move is in line with our goal to harness the latest Salesforce technologies for delivering solutions that are not only more efficient and scalable but also rich in features. We encourage our users to start considering the transition to LWC-based components, to fully benefit from the continuous innovations within Inspire Planner.
Resolved an issue where the Sprint lookup in the backlog task details was not returning any values.
We also addressed a problem where Sprint search results included sprints from other projects.
Previously, updating the collaborator’s permission level in the project team record did not update the corresponding collaborator record. This issue has now been resolved.
When a Project Team record is auto-created—such as when a user is manually assigned via the Assigned To field—the system will now check if a Collaborator record already exists for that user.
If a matching Collaborator record is found, the Project Team record will inherit the permission level from the existing Collaborator record to ensure consistency.
Previously, files uploaded via the External Project Portal were not correctly flagged as ‘Uploaded from Portal’. This has now been fixed.
When a project task assigned to a resource is deleted, the TeamEffortRollupBatch job now runs as expected and accurately updates the Total Allocated Effort value on the resource’s Project Team record.
We’ve resolved an issue where the UpdateParentTasksBatchJob process could trigger heap size limit errors when handling large volumes of Project Task records.
