Admin Guide - Set Activity Organization-Wide Defaults for Sharing

For assigned resources (Users or Contacts) to update their tasks, Inspire Planner requires the Organization-Wide Default (OWD) for the Activity object to be set to Controlled by Parent.

With this setting, users can view, edit, or delete activities (such as Tasks) based on their access to the related record (for example, the associated Account, Opportunity, or Project). This ensures that assigned resources have the appropriate level of access to update their tasks.

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to configure the Activity object’s Organization-Wide Sharing to Controlled by Parent.

1. Click on the Gear icon at the top right corner and go to Setup. 
   
   
    
2. Enter “Sharing Settings” in the Quick Find box on the left and click on Sharing Settings.
   
   
    
3. Click on Edit for Organization-Wide Defaults. 
   
   
    
4. Scroll through the list of objects and look for Activity. Set the Default Internal Access to Controlled by Parent and click on Save.
