This article introduces the Timesheet Manager feature that gives designated users global access to administer timesheets across the organization. By enabling the new Timesheet Manager checkbox on a user’s Resource Profile, administrators can grant them the ability to edit timesheets for any user, even if those timesheets are already submitted and locked. This override is not limited by reporting structures or staff assignments, making it easier for authorized managers to maintain accuracy and resolve timesheet issues without delays.
The Timesheet Manager feature is useful in situations where certain users need broad authority to review and correct timesheets across the organization. Common scenarios include:
Correcting Submitted Timesheets
A project manager discovers that a consultant logged hours under the wrong project. Because the timesheet is already submitted and locked, only a Timesheet Manager can make the correction quickly without sending it back to the user.
Handling Employee Absences
If a team member is out on vacation or leaves the company mid-cycle, a Timesheet Manager can update or finalize their timesheet on their behalf to keep reporting and billing accurate.
Ensuring Timely Reporting
In fast-paced environments, deadlines for client billing or payroll may not allow for resubmissions. A Timesheet Manager can override locks to fix errors immediately.
Organization-Wide Oversight
Finance or operations teams often need visibility across all timesheets. With Timesheet Manager enabled, they can step in to maintain data accuracy without waiting for approval workflows.
The Timesheet Manager field is in Resource Profiles. You must first enable the Integrated Resource Profile in Inspire Planner. For instructions, please see Admin Guide - Resource LWC - BETA - Enable Integrated Resource Profile.
Assign the Inspire Planner - Resource Manager Permission Set to users who will be designated as Timesheet Managers.
This permission set grants full access to Resource Profiles, Rate Cards, Resource Attributes, Timesheets, and Time Entries.
The next step is to go to the user's Resource Profile and set Timesheet Manager to TRUE.
When Timesheet Manager is TRUE for a user, the user gains access to all timesheets and time entries, even those owned by other users.
As a Timesheet Manager, when you go to the Timesheet Tab in Time Tracker, you see all timesheets. The 'Owner' column tells you who the timesheet belongs to. From here, you can edit, submit or recall timesheets.
