Change the Org-Wide Sharing Settings for Projects

    Inspire Planner Projects, by default, are private. This means that only the Project Owner has both read and write access to the Project. There are a few ways to share Projects with others:

     

    • By adding Project Collaborators - provides the project owner more control over who has access to a Project and the type of access he/she has.
       
    • By configuring a global sharing rule- is an ideal option to use if you would like to keep Projects private but would like to grant access to a group of users based on owner or criteria.
       
    • By changing the org-wide sharing setting for the Project object - is an ideal option to use if you would like to set the global default setting for all Projects for all Inspire Planner users.

     

    This help article will walk you through how to change the org-wide sharing setting for Projects. You can choose to:

     

     

    Change Org-Wide Sharing Setting to "Public Read Only"

    This is an ideal option when you want to give all Inspire Planner users visibility to all Projects but limit their access to read-only unless they are added as a project collaborator with editing permissions.

     

    1. Click on the Gear icon at the top right corner and go to Setup.


       
    2. Enter "sharing setting" in the Quick Find box and click on Sharing Settings.


       
    3. In the section labeled "Organization-Wide Defaults", click on Edit.


       
    4. Scroll down to Project and change the setting under Default Internal Access to "Public Read Only". Then click on Save.

     

    Change Org-Wide Sharing Setting to "Public Read/Write"

    This is an ideal option when you want to give all Inspire Planner users visibility and editing permissions to all Projects.
