Inspire Planner provides you with the ability to set your Project baseline. A baseline is a reference point for the project schedule. Once a baseline has been set, you can then see and report on the actual performance of the project against the original schedule.
Start with the video below:
The best time to set the baseline is after the initial planning is done for your project. To set the baseline, click on the Set New Baseline icon within the Project Toolbar on the left.
If a baseline has not been set for the project, select "All Tasks". This will set the baseline for all tasks within the project. If you've previously set the baseline for the project and have added new tasks since, you would then select "New tasks only". Click on Ok to continue setting the baseline.
Then, save your changes by clicking on the Save Project Plan icon within the Project Toolbar on the left.
You can view the baseline task bars within the Gantt chart once you've established a baseline for your project. To view the baseline task bars, click on the Show Baseline Task Bars icon within the Project Toolbar on the left.
You will notice that a light gray bar appears below each of the task bars in the Gantt chart. The light gray bars are the baseline task bars which show you the original schedule for each project task.
If the schedule changes for any of the project tasks, you'll be able to see the variance between the new schedule and the original schedule.
To hide the baseline task bars, click on the Hide Baseline Task Bars icon within the Project Toolbar on the left.
You can see the Project Dates, including the Baseline Start Date, Baseline Finish Date and Baseline Duration within the Project detail.
