Updating Task Lightning Record Page

In order to use Lightning Components, your org must have My Domain enabled.  If you have not done so, you can review this article for more information: Salesforce Help - My Domain

There is an Inspire Planner Task Layout Lightning Record page available with Inspire Planner which already contains the Inspire Planner Lightning components. You can choose to activate it, create your own or edit a Lightning record page you already have.

The Inspire Planner Task Layout Lightning Record page available with Inspire Planner cannot be edited since it's part of a managed package. So you will need to first clone it and then edit the clone.

If you already have a Lighting Record Page setup for Salesforce Tasks or if you are creating your own, you can add Inspire Planner related components by completing the following steps.

    1. From the Task object (access from Object Manager), click Lightning Record Pages in the left menu.  Then select the Task Lightning Record page you would like to edit. In the example below, I have an existing Task Lightning Record page called "Custom Inspire Planner Task Layout" so I would click on it to edit.

**Please note that the Inspire Planner Task Layout Lightning Record page available with Inspire Planner cannot be edited since it's part of a managed package. So you will need to first clone it and then edit the clone.

    2. Click on Edit. The Lighting App Builder will open on your screen. The Lighting App Builder allows you to customize your page.

    3. On the left, you will see Components. Scroll down until you find the section called "Custom - Managed". In this section, you will find all the Inspire Planner Lightning Components. They are prefixed with "Inspire".

Drag the following components to your desired area on the page:

      • Inspire - Task Predecessor and Successors - this components displays the Task's Predecessors and Successors. We recommend adding it in an area that uses the maximum width of the page so as to reduce the amount of scrolling for your users.

      • Inspire Project Task Chatter Feed - this component is the Project Task Chatter feed. This is the Chatter Feed for the related Inspire Project Task which is also visible in the Project Schedule. This is different from the native Salesforce Task Chatter feed.

If you intend to track time for your Tasks, we also recommend adding the following components on your page:

      • Inspire - Time Tracker - this component allows you to log time spent working against the task.

      • Inspire - Task Stopwatch - this component adds a Stop Watch that Inspire Planner users can run as they work on their tasks.

    4. Click on Save once you are finished making your changes.

    5. Set Component Visibility for Inspire Planner Lightning Components. See instructions here:  Set Component Visibility for Inspire Planner Lightning Components. This is an important step that prevents non-Inspire Planner users from getting an error on the page for the Inspire Planner Lightning Components.
