This section contains new features, enhancements and fixes specific to the Lightning Web Components - Gantt LWC, Portfolio LWC, and Resource LWC.
A new Assignment Completion Rule feature gives you greater control over how Project Tasks are marked complete when multiple resources are assigned. You can now choose whether a Project Task is completed only when all assignees finish their Salesforce Tasks (current behaviour) or as soon as the first assignee completes their task.
The rule is set at the Project level and can be overridden for individual Project Tasks, making it easy to support different workflows within the same project. When using First to Complete, Inspire Planner automatically completes the remaining assignment tasks to keep everything in sync—improving efficiency and reducing manual updates.
This enhancement provides more flexible task completion logic while maintaining consistent data and user experience across projects.

A new Task Resource Appointment Scheduler has been added to streamline resource scheduling directly from Project Tasks. Users can now launch an appointment scheduling modal from the Project Task record page to filter resources, select availability, and assign configurable time slots—all within a single interface.
This improvement simplifies appointment booking, reduces manual scheduling effort, ensures better use of resource capacity, and provides a consistent experience across Salesforce and Experience Cloud for both internal teams and external users.

A new interactive Task Console is now available, providing a modern, grid-style workspace for managing Salesforce Tasks. Users can group, filter, and inline edit Tasks directly from the console, with color-coded indicators and auto-saved updates — delivering faster, more efficient task management in a single consolidated view.

The Actual Duration field on the Project object has been updated to correctly calculate project duration based on Actual Start Date and Actual Finish Date.
Previously, the Actual Duration field referenced the Project’s planned Start Date and Finish Date.
Actual Start Date and Actual Finish Date fields are now available at the Project level.
Previously, Actual Start Date and Actual Finish Date were tracked only on individual Project Tasks, and these values did not roll up to the parent Project. This made it difficult for users to report on actual project timelines without building custom reports across task records.
With this enhancement, Inspire Planner now captures Actual Start and Actual Finish Dates directly on the Project record, enabling easier tracking and reporting of project execution timelines.
If you are using custom permission sets, you will need to grant access to the following fields on the Project object:
You will also need to add the above fields to your Project Page Layouts and Lightning Record Pages.
The Gantt print experience has been improved to deliver a more consistent and reliable output when printing project schedules.
To simplify the print workflow and align the behavior across components, several print settings have been standardized, and unnecessary options have been removed from the print dialog.
Changes include:
Gantt zoom is now automatically adjusted before printing to ensure the schedule renders correctly.
The Gantt Chart Range option has been simplified. You can now choose to print either the complete project schedule or a specific date range.
When printing a date range, the system will automatically adjust the zoom level to ensure the schedule displays correctly. As a result, the printed view may include a broader timeframe (for example, the entire year that contains the selected date range).
Pagination is automatically set to multiple pages (vertical) for better readability. All other options have been removed
Row alignment and header repetition are enabled by default to improve layout and consistency.
These updates simplify the printing process while ensuring a more consistent and properly formatted Gantt chart output.
The following fields can now be added to the Log Time Fields field set to provide greater visibility and reporting flexibility:
Approval Status
Billable Amount
Cost Rate
Labor Cost
Project Task
Resource Name
These additions allow Admins to surface more detailed time entry information in supported layouts, improving transparency for billing, cost tracking, and resource reporting.
The Task Predecessor & Successor component has been enhanced to better support smaller and split-screen layouts in the External Experience Cloud.
When the component is displayed in a narrow Lightning panel, it now supports horizontal scrolling, allowing users to easily view all available columns without layout issues. This improves usability when working in split-screen task views.
A new External Mode setting has been added to the Task Predecessors & Successors LWC to support External Experience Cloud users.
When External Mode is TRUE, the component now automatically excludes internal-only tasks, filtering out any Project Tasks marked as Internal Only—matching the behavior of the Gantt view for external users.
Actual Finish Date now displays immediately when the Done checkbox is set to TRUE, without requiring a project save or manual UI refresh.
Actual Start Date is now populated when completing a task that was previously Not Started, using the same date as the Actual Finish Date.
When the Done checkbox is changed from TRUE back to FALSE, the following behaviors have been corrected:
% Complete now updates to 90% instead of resetting to 0%
Status now updates to In Progress instead of Not Started
Actual Finish Date is now cleared
Actual Start Date remains populated
When Include Task Assignment is set to FALSE, task assignments and Project Teams are no longer carried over to the new project.
This fixes the following issues:
Project Teams created from manual assignments (via the Assigned To field) were being copied even though the assignment itself was not.
Task assignments and Project Teams created from automatic assignments (via the Multi Role field) were being copied when they should not have been.
Both manual and automatic assignment–related Project Teams are now correctly excluded when Include Task Assignment is FALSE.
Fixed an issue where exporting a project plan to Excel displayed the field API Name instead of the Field Name.
Excel exports now correctly use Field Names.
An issue has been fixed where various actions involving Planned Effort or Actual Effort could trigger an error message or display incorrect effort values.
This occurred in scenarios such as cloning projects, indenting tasks, copying parent and child tasks, or clearing effort values on child tasks. Effort calculations now process correctly in all cases, and parent tasks no longer display invalid values.
Projects can now be saved and updated without encountering this error.
Fixed an issue where Parent Tasks did not roll up Number and Currency formula field values from child tasks.
Parent Tasks now correctly aggregate formula-based values, aligning behavior with standard and custom Number and Currency fields.
Fixed an issue where printing a Project caused Baseline columns to be automatically added to the Project Gantt view.
Fixed an issue where adding collaborators to a Static Portfolio would sometimes fail, and an unexpected [object Object] message was displayed.
Collaborators are now added correctly, and the error message no longer appears.
This section provides updates on our legacy components, including Gantt Visualforce, Portfolio Visualforce, and Resource Allocation, in addition to detailing enhancements and fixes across various aspects of Inspire Planner like Inspire Planner System Jobs and the External Project Portal. While we continue to support these legacy components, we want to highlight our strategic shift towards prioritizing development on Lightning Web Components (LWC). This move is in line with our goal to harness the latest Salesforce technologies for delivering solutions that are not only more efficient and scalable but also rich in features. We encourage our users to start considering the transition to LWC-based components, to fully benefit from the continuous innovations within Inspire Planner.
Enhanced administrative access controls have been introduced to strengthen authorization for Inspire Planner settings and background job execution. A new Inspire Planner Administrator permission set and additional backend permission checks ensure that administrative actions can only be performed by authorized users.
To restrict access to Inspire Planner Settings, assign the new Inspire Planner Administrator permission set only to users responsible for Inspire Planner administration. If you are using custom permission sets, navigate to Object Settings and edit Inspire Planner Settings. Set both Available and Visible to False.
We’ve fixed an issue where a Project could become unexpectedly unlocked while a user was actively editing the schedule.
The Project Lock is now properly checked and refreshed during continuous edit activity, ensuring the Project remains locked for the full duration of an active editing session.
An issue has been resolved where some Parent Tasks displayed a status of Not Started even though % Complete was 100%.
This occurred in scenarios where automated updates (such as Salesforce Flows) changed large numbers of child task statuses, which prevented parent task statuses from recalculating correctly. The recalculation logic has been enhanced to fully process bulk updates and ensure all affected parent tasks are updated as expected.
Parent task statuses now correctly reflect completion when all related work is complete.
Fixed an issue where the Portal toggle appeared to revert to disabled after being enabled.
In some cases, enabling the Portal displayed a success message, but after refreshing the page, the toggle appeared disabled again — even though the Portal remained fully functional.
The enablement logic has been updated to ensure the Portal status is correctly retained and displayed, preventing false disable states after refresh.
We have resolved an issue affecting Contacts with “Assigned Tasks Only” or “Shared Tasks” visibility in the External Portal.
Previously, when the full project schedule was not visible to the Contact, the Portal recalculated and rebuilt the schedule based only on the tasks visible to that user. This resulted in unintended date shifts and inconsistencies compared to the schedule in the main Org.
Specifically:
The first visible task’s Start Date was treated as the Project Start Date in the Portal.
If both tasks in a dependency relationship (Predecessor and Successor) were not visible, the dependent task’s Start Date was incorrectly pulled forward to match the first visible row’s Start Date.
If both dependency tasks were visible, the dependency was retained correctly.
As a result, dates were shifted for multiple rows in the Portal (except the first row), causing misalignment with the original project schedule.
With this fix, the External Portal now preserves the original project schedule from the Org, regardless of task visibility level. Dates and dependencies will remain consistent with the source project, even when Contacts have limited visibility.
Access permissions for the Planned Value field on the Project object have been updated to prevent manual edits.
Previously, standard permission sets allowed users to modify this field even though its value is automatically calculated and populated by Inspire Planner background processes. Editing access has now been restricted to ensure the field remains system-managed and accurately reflects calculated project data.
Updated Permission Sets:
